Dive into the heart of yoga with a six-week journey through Hasta Mudras If you’ve practiced with me for a while, you’ll know our sessions are often sprinkled with Hasta Mudras—hand gestures that act as energetic seals, guiding the flow of energy through the body. These seemingly simple yet profoundly powerful shapes have been used for centuries to enhance well-being, deepen awareness, and connect us to the subtler layers of our practice. Beyond their physical effects, mudras influence our emotional and mental states, helping to cultivate balance, clarity, and resilience. They work as an extension of our breath and intention, supporting focus, grounding, transformation, and inner harmony. Each finger is believed to hold a unique energy: 🤲 Index finger – Air | Self-worth | Mental clarity | Grief & release 🤲 Middle finger – Space | Responsibility | Circulation | Ego & patience 🤲 Ring finger – Earth | Relationships | Nervous system | Grounding & anger 🤲 Little finger – Water | Communication | Fear & flow 🤲 Thumb – Fire | Confidence | Digestion | Strength & self-assertion Over the coming weeks, we will weave asana, breath work, and intention together with carefully chosen mudras—some you may already be familiar with, others might be new to you. Each will be introduced with purpose, aligning with our practice to support balance, vitality, and emotional harmony. I love how mudras add another layer of depth to yoga, turning simple gestures into powerful tools for transformation.
